As Communication Director of Body Mind Spirit Journeys, I am sometimes asked whether we offer any
all inclusive holidays to sacred places. Typically an all-inclusive holiday or vacation package includes the accommodations in a resort or hotels, meals, use of facilities. Other things that may or may not be included are transportation, beverages, guided tours and entrance to attractions. I have stayed in an all-inclusive resort in Kenya where guests wore different colored wrist bands depending on the level of their package.
Just as ordinary vacation packages differ, so do group tour programs that are spiritual or wellness oriented. Body Mind Spirit Journeys are spirit centered smaller group tours that are generally led by authors or teachers who are experts in a particular field. An Egyptologist leads tours to Egypt and a yoga instructor leads yoga and meditation programs to India.
More often than not, the programs do not include all meals, but many. This is because most itineraries allow some private time away from the group for independent activities, that might include museums, shopping, sightseeing, or simply taking it easy. In most cases they do not include airfare to the destination country, such as Egypt, India or Peru, but they do include any travel within the destination country, whether it be by airplane, train, boat or coach.
In a nutshell, these tours to sacred sites and pilgrimage destinations are planned to give the traveler the most enjoyable and meaningful experience while keeping in mind the desire to also give good value for the price. Hotel rooms will typically be neither basic nor luxurious, but more in the mid to upper quality range.
